On Saturday, my best friends and I threw a baby shower for our sweet friend who is expecting her first little one!! Since they are not finding out the gender of their baby, it was a little challenging to find and decide on a shower theme/decor. Grey and White or Navy and White is always simple and pretty, but we were looking for something with a little more color!!
After much brainstorming and pinterest searching, we put together the cutest idea and ran with it!
Theme: Twinkle Twinkle Little Star
Instead of just doing grey and white, we chose gold, white, and all the prettiest pastels!! My friend hand made all the tassels with tissue paper and we strung them on white and gold twine. These signs we made from white poster board, cut into cloud shapes, and gold paint for the words. On each of the tables we had small flower arrangements made, added a little jar of pastel candy, and some confetti!! Simple and cute.
Also, a letterboard always comes in handy for a welcome sign or a fun game!! We had everyone vote what they thought the baby’s gender would be and then revealed the winner at the end!! BOY won, so we will find out if it is true come August!
The timing of our shower was 12-2. We served a delicious lunch and of course had some yummy/adorable sweets!!
Sandwiches from a local restaurant – One World
Neiman Marcus Dip & Crackers – sooo good!!!
Rainbow Rotini Pasta Salad
Strawberry Mint Limeade – this was a huge hit!! Definitely recommend for your next summer party! We used 7up instead of Sparkling water.
Sprinkle Sugar Cookies and Thumbprints from the best Peoria Bakery – Trefzger’s
We made a cute little photo wall as well!! **Tip – use a disposable table cloth or wrapping paper as a backdrop. We used a white table cloth and added gold streamers, stars, fans, and balloons!! Photo walls are always a hit for instagraming pictures and for the mama-to-be to get tons of pictures with her guests!!
Other ideas we thought of for gender neutral party/shower include:
Stars, Clouds, & Moon
Rain, Rainbow, & Clouds
Green, yellow, or grey colors
We also felt that the pastels were perfect for spring time as well!!! Everything turned out so pretty! And you can’t forget balloons!! Probably the most inexpensive party decor ever and my favorite!!
Stay lovely, dolls
